The Golden State Warriors have been linked to a number of veteran free agents this offseason, including Andre Iguodala, who played a crucial role in the Warriors two championships during his first stint with the team.
The Lakers are reported to have interest in signing free agent Andre Iguodala to a minimum contract as an insurance policy for the future. The addition of Iguodala would give the Lakers another wing player to pair with LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, who Iguodala has played with plenty of times in his career. Iguodala is a veteran who will be 30 years old in November, but he has a lot of basketball left in him. Iguodala has been known to be a good locker room presence and a good teammate who is always willing to help out his teammates.
The Los Angeles Lakers have one of the NBA’s best frontcourts on paper and will likely make a push for a veteran wing in free agency, but what about Andre Iguodala? Los Angeles is rumored to be among the teams interested in adding the 13-year veteran to its roster. The Lakers are known to be looking for a veteran wing player to help them put up points and defend against the opposing teams.

The Los Angeles Lakers will be looking for some experienced assistance, and veteran winger Andre Iguodala has been connected to the club.
Iguodala became an unrestricted free agent when the Miami Heat rejected his option for the 2024-22 season. Last season, he came off the bench for the Heat and averaged 4.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 21.3 minutes.
Iguodala, who was a crucial component in the Warriors’ dynasty, is still widely regarded throughout the league for his defensive skills and senior leadership, having guarded LeBron James for much of their fights in the NBA Finals.
According to Arash Markazi of The Mightier 1090, the Lakers may be interested in Iguodala’s talents, and Rob Pelinka’s relationship with the three-time NBA champion may be a factor.
According to Markazi, Andre Iguodala’s previous agent is current Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka. “The two are still close, and the Lakers are a club that is interested in signing him.”

Jordan Schultz of ESPN verified the story.
Schultz tweeted, “League sources indicate the Lakers and Warriors are both interested in acquiring Andre Igoudala.” “Recall that Iggy, who was previously represented by Rob Pelinka, stated on Howard Beck’s podcast two years ago, ‘Rob is my guy.’ He’s always treated me well. ‘He is adored by my wife.’

Before playing the King and the Lakers in 2024 with the Heat, Iguodala has high regard for James, describing him as the “best player ever.”
Iguodala told Marc J. Spears of ESPN’s The Undefeated, “You just have to have the will, knowing you’re defending the best talent ever.” “If you make a mistake, he’ll make you pay for it. You just attempt to play basketball without making any mistakes. Put him in situations where you think you have the upper hand, whether it’s a shot or a pass, or when he’s on defense.”
DeMar DeRozan has signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. Developing Yourself Unlikely
DeMar DeRozan, a free agent in the NBA.
DeMar DeRozan, a four-time All-Star, is also believed to be a target for the Lakers. The former Spurs standout is an unrestricted free agent who is said to be willing to sign for a low price in order to chase a title.
According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, that plan has gone apart in recent days.
“It’s beginning to seem like the scenario where he goes to Los Angeles on the mid-level will not be the case,” Fischer added. “I don’t believe it’s a certain conclusion that DeMar will take that mid-level to Los Angeles. That was extensively debated and speculated during the past week or two, but that does not seem to be the case now.”
DeRozan averaged 21.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and a career-high 6.9 assists in 61 games for the Spurs.
Several familiar faces are interested in returning to the Lakers.
Dwight Howard, a free agency big player.
Both Dwight Howard and Wayne Ellington — former Lakers who would fit the criteria for a veteran’s minimum contract — are anticipated to show interest in the Lakers.
According to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Ellington and Howard are both interested in returning.
The Lakers need outside shooting, and Ellington hit 42.2 percent from 3-point range with the Pistons last season. As a paint presence for the Los Angeles Lakers, Howard might fill the gap. Howard, who is in his 18th season, averaged 7.0 points and 8.4 rebounds with Philadelphia last season.

Andre Iguodala is a success story. The 34-year-old journeyman forward has carved out a niche for himself in the NBA, but he’s never reached his full potential. Iguodala is one of the few players on a good team that could use a supporting cast that can match his skill set. The point guard and sharpshooter can play either wing position, making him a valuable asset to a contender. The Los Angeles Lakers and the Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly the front-runners to sign Iguodala when he hits free agency in 2019.. Read more about andre iguodala age and let us know what you think.
